National Research Journal is a semiannual English-language scholarly publication of Shirley Publishing House. It provides a venue for original research, academic studies, and evidence-based contributions addressing educational, institutional, scientific, social, and national development concerns.

NRJ disseminates original, methodologically sound and ethically conducted scholarship that supports evidence-informed decisions and public access to research relevant to Philippine and international communities.
Submissions must make a clear scholarly contribution and fall within the competence of the journal’s editors and independent reviewers.
Researchers, educators, graduate students, research advisers, government and institutional researchers, policy professionals, community-development practitioners, academic institutions and libraries.
Original research; systematic, scoping, integrative and critical reviews; methodological articles; policy analyses; evidence-based case studies; conceptual articles; research notes; and invited scholarly perspectives.
See article requirements →NRJ began in 2020. Volumes 1 and 2 (2020–2021) are clearly labelled pre-ISSN legacy content and were produced before the journal’s current external peer-review process.
Print ISSN 2960-3625 was assigned in 2022. Beginning with the first 2022 issue, scholarly articles undergo editorial assessment and external review by at least two independent reviewers. Early issues were digitized later, with original publication periods shown separately from online-upload dates.
Submission requirements
Authors submitting to National Research Journal must follow the journal’s requirements for manuscript preparation, ethical reporting, genuine contributor-based authorship, double-anonymous peer review, open-access licensing and accurate publication records.
Editorial assessment
Scholarly manuscripts undergo editorial screening and double-anonymous external review by at least two independent reviewers before the responsible editor makes the final decision.
Research integrity
The journal requires ethical research conduct, appropriate approval and consent, transparent conflicts of interest, and responsible handling of corrections, concerns and retractions.
Reader access
All published content is immediately free to read and download—without registration, subscription or embargo—and may be shared and reused under its applicable Creative Commons licence.
