Abstract

This study evaluated the safety, technical accuracy, and risk communication of a 59-page illustrated foundational cookery manuscript. A structured document audit examined cooking terms, knives and tools, cookware, appliances, cutting techniques, napkin-folding instructions, and the final hygiene unit. The manuscript introduces several useful safety concepts, but safety is often separated from practice rather than embedded at the point of hazard. The article proposes a hazard-at-point-of-use model, critical stop rules, measurable controls, and a staged technical, safety, accessibility, and classroom validation protocol.
